Above all else, our mission at CNM is to help students succeed in whatever educational or workforce training endeavor they might be seeking. CNM’s tuition rates are low for college-credit classes and free for occupational and developmental courses at New Mexico’s second-largest postsecondary institution.
Clovis Community Colleges was originally established in 1961 as a branch campus of Eastern New Mexico University. It became a locally-controlled, locally-governed independent community college upon approval of district voters in 1990. The college now occupies approximately 100 acres of land with a modern $25 million facility, including the Dr. W. D. Dabbs Library and the Dr. H. A. Miller Student Services Center.
Luna Community College is the only comprehensive community college in northeastern New Mexico. As a two-year institution of higher education, LCC offers over 30 areas of study and enjoys an outstanding reputation for its caliber of facilities, teaching methods, curricula and dedication to excellence.
Mesalands Community College’s general education courses are included in the New Mexico Higher Education Department matrix of courses for articulation among two- and four-year colleges in the state. Students from Mesalands Community College have been successful in transferring credits and making the transition into four-year colleges in the state.
Founded in 1965, New Mexico Junior College, located just north of Hobbs in the southeastern corner of the state, enjoys the distinction of being the first junior college built after the 1963 Junior College Act was signed into law. Groundbreaking for the administration and science buildings, as well as two vocational-technical buildings, was held February 1966. In September, NMJC opened its doors to 728 students.
Founded in 1956, San Juan College provides quality education to approximately 11,000 students each year, who are seeking credits through both face-to-face and online classes. Students can choose from 100-plus two-year degree and certificate programs. In addition, the College provides workforce training to approximately 8,000 students, and delivers non-credit community learning classes to 1,900 students annually. Dedicated to student success and completion, San Juan College offers innovative, challenging and affordable academic programs that equip students with the knowledge, skills and confidence to succeed. San Juan College also serves as a leader in economic development, continually collaborating with local businesses and developing an array of corporate training opportunities.
Northern New Mexico College has served the communities of northern New Mexico for over a century. Since we opened our doors in 1909 as The Spanish American Normal School in El Rito, the institution has strived to provide education programs that meet the changing economic and cultural needs of the region. In 2005, in response to community demand, the College began offering four-year degrees.
In just 14 short years, Northern has developed an academic infrastructure offering over 40 bachelor’s, associate, and certificate programs, in addition to community and continuing education programs.
Santa Fe Community College (SFCC) is a public, two-year community college located in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The college offers 65 degree and certificate programs and caters to the academic, career and personal-enrichment needs of local residents, businesses, government and public service organizations. The school enrolls more than 14,500 students, individual credit and non-credit per year. More than 315 full-time and approximately 400 part-time employees work at SFCC.
Located in Silver City, New Mexico, Western New Mexico University has served the people of the state of New Mexico and its surrounding areas as a comprehensive, regional, rural, public coeducational university since 1893 and caters to a student body diverse in age, culture, language and ethnic background. More than 3,200 students attend WNMU’s five campuses in Silver City, Lordsburg, Deming, Truth or Consequences, and Gallup
